Helical Piers

A helical pier is a foundation pier or pile made of steel that contains helices just like the thread of a screw. It is driven into the soil, to depths of the foundation by use of a hydraulic motor. Helical piers are used to support structures especially where soil conditions are challenging. Minimum excavation of soil and foliage is required.

When existing foundations develop issues, such as cracks on interior or exterior walls, they often appear as stairstep patterns on the home's exterior. These cracks may also result from weak or poorly compacted soil beneath the structure. This commonly occurs when homes or commercial buildings are constructed on inadequately prepared ground. Helical piers address this problem by transferring the weight of the structure to deeper, more stable soil layers, effectively bearing the load and stabilizing the foundation.
